ABOUT CHLOE

Get to know the face behind the paint.

Chloe grew up in the very heart of the West Midlands- in the Black Country. She started her creative career after she completed the Production Arts course at Dudley Evolve in June 2015- coming away with high Distinction* grades. From this, she has gone on to complete costumes, makeup and headpieces for theatre shows, live events as well as also being the creative director and stylist on photoshoots and taking on wardrobe roles within the theatre industry.

It was a humbling experience for Chloe (being given the opportunity by Jon Conway) to work on "Cinderella: World's Biggest Pantomime", with the likes of Bradley Walsh, Paul O'Grady and Dick & Dom, at the age of just 18, but it shows her sheer determination and love for the industry.

Chloe then went on to provide costume designs for "Snow White" starring Mel C, Rylan Clark, Vincent & Flavia (Strictly Come Dancing) and  Paddy McGuiness. She followed that with smaller shows and most recently, Chloe took on the role of Wardrobe Mistress for the touring "Elf: The Christmas Spectacular" which starred Martine McCutcheon, Tam Ryan and David Essex.

Chloe is also a multi-magazine published designer. Her makeup and costumes pieces have been published in national arts and photography magazines and seen by thousands.

In more recent times, Chloe is best known for her sports paints. Chloe is a huge West Bromwich Albion fan and Season Ticket Holder at The Hawthorns. During the 2019/2020 promotion campaign, Chloe's sports paints came into the public eye and were seen by thousands resulting in an interview on ITV News and a front page and a double-page spread in popular newspaper Express and Star as well as online articles featuring interviews with Chloe.

Chloe started painting footballers in September 2018 and since then she has painted 23 sportsmen/women- from the Lionesses to English Cricket, Wolves to Albion, players past and present... 29 never quite made the cut, approximately 112 hours 43 minutes have been spent painting sportspersons (averaging just under 5 hours a paint). Over 671,000 of you have seen my sports paints and it just keeps growing.

Chloe paints sports as a way of targeting a niche following whilst also fusing 2 very contrasting hobbies- the very male-dominated sport that is football and the largely female-dominated association women have with makeup.

As somebody who has experienced sexism in football herself, Chloe uses her social media platforms to reach out to the combination of football and makeup fans to shine a light on the sexism that still exists within the football community. Women liking makeup and liking football are not mutually exclusive, and Chloe has always been a champion of equality within the football community. Taking part in projects with GIRLFANS zine and also campaigning with On The Ball to make free period products in stadiums a permanent fixture.

Chloe is currently works full-time and is completing university studies alongside her work, but hopes to start painting again soon. She would like to thank everybody who supports her work- past and present,  and those who continually pester her for more paints, it's lovely knowing they had such a positive impact on everybody.

Chloe's love for the arts and football continues to grow even during the lockdown...

"As the saying goes 'Do the job you love and you'll never work another day in your life.' which is exactly how I feel working in theatre. It's an incredible form of art and has the amazing ability to change a person's mood for the better! Theatre is escapism."
